eSafety Challenge
eSafety Challenge is a project started in January 2010 for the period of 24 months financed by the European Commission, DG Information Society and Media under the 7th Framework Programme. The project coordinator is FIA Foundation working together with other five partners. FIA European Bureau leads the Work Package (WP) - National Campaigning and is involved in WP Dissemination. The national campaigns are organised and launched by automobile clubs, members of FIA, and supported by other project partners.
The overall objective of the project is the European promotion of key eSafety applications towards policy makers and end-users such as warning and emergency braking systems, blind spot monitoring, lane support systems, speed alert, adaptive headlights, ESC and pan-European eCall. It focuses on organising of international awareness to promote global take-up of eSafety applications and inclusion of information and demonstration of the systems in eSafety Challenge event as well as the national events.
