Tougher Controls on NOx and Particulate Emissions

Subject to a series of technical amendments, the European Parliament adopted today a report (A5-0057/2004) tabled by Bernd Lange MEP dealing with a draft Directive (COM(2003) 522 - COD(2003) 0205) concerning the emissions from lorries and busses.

The Parliament also urged the Commission to submit a proposal in 2004 on further limits on NOx and particulate emissions for heavy commercial vehicles.
