Recyclability of cars: MEPs call for easier implemention

Today the Parliament's Committee on Environment adopted unanimous a report tabled by rapporteur Holger Krahmer on the draft directive on type-approval of motor vehicles with regard to their reusability, recyclabitlity and recoverability Directive (COM(2004) 162 - COD(2004) 0053).

The report welcomes the basic thrust of the proposed directive, but includes amendments aiming at making its implementation more workable for the type-approval authorities and the automobile industry.
