EIB could increase loans for automotive industry
Publication date: 20 February 2009
The European Investment Bank (EIB) could increase the funds earmarked for the development of clean technologies in the automotive sector. A spokesman announced that the amount of loans initially slated for environmentally acceptable technologies - €4 billion in 2009 and the same amount in 2010 – would not cover demand from vehicle manufacturers and subcontractors, which have already applied to the EIB for loans totalling €7 billion for 2009.
