Edmund King Appointed President of The AA

Publication date: 13 December 2007

The AA today confirmed a key appointment – that of President to be held by Edmund King who takes up the post early in the New Year.
Edmund King, who joins from the RAC Foundation, will be tasked with leading the AA’s campaigning efforts on behalf of motorists.
Andrew Goodsell, Chairman of the AA welcomed Edmund and said, “I am delighted to welcome Edmund to the AA. His appointment is the latest step in our investment programme for our people as well as technology. His expertise and knowledge in the motoring arena will further strengthen the AA’s position as the UK’s number 1 motoring organisation and I look forward to working with him.”

Edmund King said on his decision to join the AA: "I am very proud of the work I have done at the Foundation but could not resist the exciting challenge of moving to a bigger organisation with exceptional potential for championing the interest of the motorist in both a representative and commercial sense. The public face of the AA is rightly exemplified by the excellent work done by patrols but there is also huge potential in further promoting the voice of the AA in the broader campaigning arena. I look forward to working with the AA team in taking forward that vision."
